What the service is

GetCited monitors websites you add, audits them, tracks keyword rankings and visibility inside AI answer engines, and turns what it finds into a queue of problems to address. You read that queue in the dashboard, or your own coding agent reads it through our MCP server and applies the changes to your codebase.

The platform reports problems with evidence. It does not decide how to fix them and does not write changes to your code. Every change to your site is made by you or by an agent you run, and you are responsible for reviewing it.

Your account

You need an account to use the service. Keep your credentials and API keys secret. Anything done with your API key is treated as done by you, so revoke a key in Settings as soon as you think it has leaked. You must be old enough to enter a contract in your jurisdiction, and if you are using GetCited for an employer you must be authorised to bind them.

The sites you add

By adding a site or installing the analytics snippet, you confirm that:

• You own the site or are authorised to act on it.
• You may lawfully install analytics on it and have met any consent or notice obligations owed to its visitors in their jurisdiction.
• You will keep your own privacy notice accurate about what the snippet collects. Our privacy page describes exactly what that is.
• You will not point the crawler at sites you do not control, or use it to overwhelm anyone's infrastructure.

We crawl only sites added to your account, respect robots.txt, and limit concurrency per host. If you ask us to crawl something you do not control, that is on you, not on us.

Acceptable use

Do not use GetCited to:

• Break the law, or help anyone else break it.
• Collect special category personal data, payment card data, or health data through the snippet. It is not built for that and doing so breaches these terms.
• Attack, probe, or reverse engineer the service beyond what applicable law permits.
• Resell access, or share one account's API keys across organisations that should be billed separately.
• Generate deceptive content, spam, or manipulate search and AI answer engines through methods those platforms prohibit.

We may suspend an account that is doing any of the above. Where it is safe and lawful to do so, we will tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it.

Plans, billing and quotas

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record. Polar handles payment, invoicing and sales tax. We never see your card details.

• Plans renew automatically each period until you cancel.
• Each plan carries monthly quotas, for example pages crawled, rank checks, AI-visibility prompts, brain runs and analytics sessions. Work stops when a quota is exhausted and resumes at the start of the next month.
• Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
• We may change prices or quota limits. Existing subscribers are told before a change takes effect and can cancel instead of accepting it.

Refunds are handled case by case through Polar. Ask us and we will be reasonable about it.

Your data

Your account data and the data we collect about your site visitors stay yours. We process them to run the service, as described on the privacy page. You can export what you need and delete your projects at any time. Deleting a project removes its crawls, issues, events, sessions and insights.

We use aggregate, non-identifying operational metrics to improve the product. We do not sell your data or your visitors' data, and we do not use your site content to train models.

Availability and change

GetCited is early software and is offered without an uptime commitment. There is no service level agreement today. We will add one, and a public status page, before we claim otherwise. Features may change or be removed as the product develops. We will not remove something you depend on without notice if we can avoid it.

Third-party data sources, search engines and AI answer engines change without consulting us. Measurements that depend on them can move or become unavailable for reasons outside our control.

No warranty

The service is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that any recommendation it produces will improve your rankings, your traffic, or your visibility in any AI answer engine. Search and answer engines rank content by rules they do not publish and change without warning. Nobody can promise a result there, and we do not.

Keyword attribution is explicitly probabilistic. Search Console reports queries at page level, delayed and partially withheld, so any keyword attached to a session is a weighted estimate presented with its confidence. Treat it as evidence, not as fact.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, neither side is liable to the other for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost revenue, or lost data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using the service and delete your account whenever you want. We can end the agreement if you materially breach these terms and do not fix it within thirty days of us asking, or immediately if the breach is one we cannot safely wait on. If we discontinue the service entirely, we will give you at least thirty days to export your data.

Governing law

The operating entity and its jurisdiction are being finalised. This section will name both, and the courts that hear any dispute, before the service leaves early access. Until then, if a dispute arises we will agree a forum with you in good faith rather than rely on a term you never had the chance to read.

Changes to these terms

We update this page as the product changes, and the date at the top with it. Material changes are emailed to account owners before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that is how you accept them.
